World Travel Experts Nominated Las Torres Reserve for the 2023 Award in the "South American Responsible Tourism” Category

VOTE FOR LAS TORRES - WTA AWARDS

Las Torres Reserve, located in Las Torres del Paine National Park, will be representing Chile in a virtual vote with one Colombian, two Peruvian and two Argentinian tourist attractions.

Las Torres Reserve, a tourist attraction located in Torres del Paine National Park, is the only Chilean selection for the 2023 South America Responsible Tourism Award, presented by the World Travel Awards (WTA), a nomination recognizing organizations with outstanding ecological principles and commitment to sustainability.

This award differs from the other categories in that nominees are selected by hospitality, tourism and sustainability experts rather than applying to enter, meaning Las Torres Reserve was handpicked as a leader in responsible tourism.

Las Torres Reserve was also nominated for “Best Green Hotel in South America” by the same organizations.

“We are very proud of this recognition from the World Travel Awards,” affirmed Las Torres Reserve’s commercial manager, Juan López, adding, “Our initiatives build a better future for our visitors by promoting sustainability, awareness and developing a positive relationship with our environment.”

In recent years, Las Torres Reserve has mobilized a series of practices, including the Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) certification from the Savory Institute, which is responsible for verifying ecosystem function through holistic management, planned grazing, and soil regeneration in the Chilean Patagonia.

Specialists have implemented various practices, such as reforestation, organic garden planting, and trail conservation and restoration, to counteract erosion in the reserve. Responsible Tourism Awards recognized these outstanding initiatives by selecting Las Torres Reserve to receive the prestigious WTM “Best Nature Conservation” gold award.

Las Torres Reserve is competing in the “Responsible Tourism” category with Awake Travel (Colombia), Llama Path (Peru), Posada Amazonas Lodge (Peru), Say Hueque Argentina Journeys (Argentina) and Wilderness Patagonia (Argentina).
